Miami, Fla.  April 15, 2017 — Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach will be the scene of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s May 7, 6th Annual “Claws for Kids” fundraising brunch. Not only will guests enjoy delicious stone crabs and other signature Joe’s cuisine without the wait, but proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs, including after school programs, homework assistance, computer training, social skills, dance, arts & crafts, professional mentoring, and summer and athletic programs, for area children who need them the most. The event will kick off with a cocktail reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by brunch at 12:30 p.m.

Located at 11 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, 33139, Joe’s will be open for brunch on May 7 only for supporters of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s “Claws for Kids.” Menu items will include stone crabs, coleslaw, hash brown potatoes, creamed spinach and Key Lime pie. For attendees who don’t eat stone crabs, main course options will be available.

Jimmy Morales, City Manager of the City of Miami Beach, will be honored at the event with Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s ‘From the Heart Award,’ which honors a person, family or organization that has shown “overwhelming” support and constant dedication to the children of the community, including members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.

Frank Sinatra impersonator Jeff Grainger of Sinatra Sounds Entertainment will provide entertainment.

Judy Kramer is the chair of this year’s event. Kramer, who has chaired the event four times, is a retired Miami-Dade County Public Schools executive.
