BGC_ClawsForKids_Invitation2015_Page1Many amazing duos have been enjoyed on the sandy beaches of South Florida: grilled pork and plantains, Spring Break and volleyball, steel drums and gentle breezes …

But none touch our hearts like the annual pairing of raising funds for kids and enjoying crab claws at Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach.

South Florida PR Firm Durée & Company is proud to be one of the sponsors of the 4th Annual Claws for Kids private brunch at Joe’s Stone Crab on May 3, when Joe’s will be open for brunch only for Claws for Kids supporters. The event, which will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s newly renovated South Beach location opening in June, is quickly becoming a local tradition. It also marks the close of snow crab season, which is officially May 15.

KG Headshot 3.31.15At the 4th Annual Claws for Kids, Ken Gorin, president and CEO of THE COLLECTION, will accept the “From the Heart” Award, which is bestowed upon a person, family or organization that has shown overwhelming support and constant dedication to the children of the community and beyond.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s new 11,000-sq.-ft. South Beach Club will serve approximately 400 children from the local area. It will feature a teen center, state-of-the-art computer lab, teaching kitchen for children, homework rooms, games rooms and creative arts room.

We at Durée & Company love this event because it epitomizes everything we treasure about where we live and work – the historical elegance of Joe’s; the South Beach setting; and the menu, which is another great combo of South Florida and down south. We won’t be counting calories as we dine on stone crabs, hash brown potatoes, creamed spinach and Key Lime pie.

Oh, we just thought of another great combo – friends and good times. See you there!
