D&Co Travels to the Big Apple with Rado


durée & company radio watchesThe Big Apple. A concrete jungle featuring the best in architecture and design. NYCxDESIGN, New York City’s official celebration of global design, spanned the month of May, and celebrated all disciplines of design across multiple boroughs from Brooklyn to Manhattan. The dynamos at South Florida public relations firm Durée & Company took to New York City with our client, luxury Swiss watch brand Rado, which was the official watch sponsor of NYCxDESIGN.

As the event’s official watch sponsor, Rado opened a pop-up gallery exhibition at WantedDesign Manhattan, showcasing not only its innovative design and craftsmanship in timepieces, but also the winner and finalists of its second Rado Star Prize U.S. (vote here for your favorite finalist). The brand took a raw, blank, white space and transformed it into a gallery. The pop-up kicked off with a VIP opening evening with the gallery, filled with guests including friends of the brand, top media, members of the design community and more.

We at D&Co understand the time and effort that goes into an event. Event planning ranges from small, intimate dinners to galas and week-long pop-ups — and the preparation and coordination is different for each event. Events have many moving parts.  Organization, delegating and “keeping your cool” are only a few of the skills required for a team during the planning stages. Everyone wants a great event, but no event will be successful without hard labor, long hours and sometimes a few fires to put out.

We pride ourselves on being an extension of our clients. We go where they need us and help in any capacity that we can. For this event, D&Co enlisted one of our favorite NYC caterers, Scoozi Events, to dish out kitschy bites, like Nutella pop-tarts and seared tuna on a rice cracker with the Rado logo. We also sourced and managed a leading photographer and videographer to capture the opening reception.

No event would be complete without media relations. D&Co invited and secured top media attendance for the preview including Hearst Digital Media, Robb Report, Surface and more. The team took the time to engage with all media, as they showed them around the space and spoke about key highlights of the exhibition.

When it comes to event management, we find a way to make things happen to drive success. And, we are never afraid to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty.

Durée & Company President/CEO Durée Ross has been chosen to be a featured mentor for South Florida Business Journal’s BizWomen Mentoring Monday. This will be the fourth year that Durée will serve as a mentor at this event for business women across South Florida. Durée is a proud member of South Florida Business Journal’s Influential Business Women group and is looking forward to another inspiring Mentoring Monday.

BizWomen Mentoring Monday will not only be taking place in South Florida, but also in 43 other Business Journal markets on the same day. These events give women the opportunity to network with powerful women business leaders and ask them questions about their successes and for advice. Each attendee will get to choose from 40 mentors and have seven minutes to speak with them one-on-one. While waiting in the short lines to speak with the mentors, attendees are encouraged to network with each other as well. FLIPANY’s Aug. 26 “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale Annual Dinner Served Up an Epicurean Adventure with Renowned Area Chefs, Raising Nearly $40,000


Proceeds Benefit Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ Program

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Sept. 21, 2016) – More than 100 guests experienced an unforgettable gastronomical evening, raising nearly $40,000 for Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ program, at the Aug. 26, 6th annual “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale dinner, reception and auction. The epicurean event, hosted by non-profit organization FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth) and presented by Holman Automotive, presented decadent five-course dinners prepared by 10 of South Florida’s most acclaimed chefs.

Parties of 10 reveled in delightful meals prepared tableside by the renowned chefs, as well as exquisite wine pairings. “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale took place aboard the South Beach Lady Yacht, which cruised down the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, and was emceed by Kimmy B, morning show co-host of Miami radio station HITS 97.3.

The “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale chef lineup included Chef Jason Smith of the W Fort Lauderdale hotel, Chef Robyn Almodovar of Palate Party, Chef Mike White of Tsukuro, Chef Eric Baker of Max’s Harvest, Chef Steve Zobel of Big City Tavern, Chef Adrienne Grenier of 3030 Ocean, Chef Ned Jaouhar of The Rusty Hook Tavern, Chef Michael Bloise of Ocean2000, and Chef Rolando Centonzio of Shooters Waterfront & The Grateful Palate.

Cooking Matters is a program that teaches children and their families how to make healthy food choices, cook healthy meals and shop for nutritious foods on a budget. All funds raised from the event support Cooking Matters for a total of 500 participants: schoolchildren and their families in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The “Chefs Up Front” dinner also took place in Miami on Sept. 9, 2016 at The Biltmore hotel in Coral Gables.
