The D&Co Dynamos Think Pink!

As you may have noticed from our business cards, website and company logo, Fort Lauderdale public relations firm Durée & Company is all about pink. From the notepads to the artwork on the walls – even to the rosé chilling in the fridge – the whole office is pink. Since today is National Pink Day, we’d like to touch on why we’re so loyal to our favorite color.

This holiday is a day to celebrate pink and all it represents – especially girl power. The D&Co dynamos embrace the positive energy this feminine color exudes. As a group of spunky, strong women, we’d like to share why we love working in a distinctly feminine and cheerful environment.

Durée – In the words of Elle Woods: “Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed” and “Being true to yourself never goes out of style.”

Chrissy – “The color pink is a fun and cheerful reminder of all the great women who contribute their talent and ideas to our team! I love that our agency is so women-centric!”

Elana – “I like to leave a little sparkle wherever I go, and I think that’s the attitude we all bring to the office.”

Elizabeth – “I love being surrounded by other strong and inspiring women who can hand out pink business cards yet still command the attention of every single person in a room for all the right reasons.”

Lizzie – “I love how willing everyone is to teach and help one another with anything around the office!”

Caroline – “I love working in an office that is filled with such a bright and cheerful color! Pink has become part of the Durée & Company brand and it’s perfect for our ‘girl power’ attitudes.”

Sue – “I’m a glass-is-half-full kind of gal so it’s natural for me to be in a decidedly pink and cheerful environment.”

Sam – “I love being surrounded by the color pink every day as it brings positivity and joyfulness to the office.”

Andrea – “Pink is my absolute favorite color, and it keeps me energized and happy at work.”

LeAnne – “I love working in an ultra-feminine environment where everything is highlighted by shades of pink because it serves as an empowering reminder that, as women, we are perfectly capable of doing anything we want – including run a PR firm.”

Nicole – “Hustle for the pretty things (and rosé)! PR is all about the hustle and making things happen. We work hard and play hard – hustling on a daily basis!”

The tours will be available daily for the Water Taxi, Historic Stranahan House Museum and History Museum Fort Lauderdale, beginning as early as 9:30 a.m., when beginning at History Museum Fort Lauderdale. Docent-led tours at History Museum Fort Lauderdale and Historic Stranahan House Museum are available at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. NSU Art Museum is open every day except Monday. Tour prices start at $38 per adult and $20 per child; children aged 5 and under are free. Waterful Tours will be available at this rate only from May 20 through Oct. 29, 2017.

“In the ‘Venice of America,’ as Fort Lauderdale is affectionately called, Waterful Tours are a great way to discover the city’s alluring culture and history,” said Carmen Ackerman, Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District project manager.

The Waterful Tours include:

One all-day Water Taxi pass. Guests can leave the traffic and parking behind, and board a Water Taxi to see the city, explore its history, attractions, eateries and shops along the way.

Admission to two of three cultural sites:

– NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale is the hub of the South Florida Art Coast, nestled in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. NSU Art Museum’s 83,000-square-foot building contains 25,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 256-seat auditorium, Museum Store and Cafe. The museum’s celebrated permanent collection contains more than 6,000 works. Among its highlights are the country’s largest collection of paintings and drawings by the American realist William Glackens; the most extensive holding in the U.S. of works by post-World War II, avant-garde CoBrA artists; and extensive holdings of works by leading Latin American artists.

–  Historic Stranahan House Museum is the oldest surviving structure in Broward County and was built in 1901 as the original trading post for the early pioneers and Seminole Indians. The iconic structure along the New River served as the pioneer settlement’s town hall, post office, and first bank. Later it became a boarding house and restaurant. The Stranahan family is credited as being Fort Lauderdale’s founding family and the museum offers a glimpse the city’s beginning, their legacy, and the historic structure. The House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

– History Museum Fort Lauderdale is the only pioneer village in South Florida with the largest collection of historic buildings in Broward County. It’s a great place for adults and children to learn about the history of Fort Lauderdale, and how the city evolved from pioneer times through today. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Historical Society offers a unique glimpse into the past with guided tours conducted in period costumes.
