Durée Mellion Ross



President Durée Mellion Ross fell in love with public relations at the age of 19 during a fated college internship. Originally a double major in broadcast journalism and sociology at the University of Miami, she found her place in the world of PR.

Now an award-winning PR entrepreneur, Durée leads a talented team of media relations and marketing specialists in South Florida. The reach of her PR agency, Durée & Company, is global with clients who provide services and impact lives from South Florida to around the world.

Durée & Company specializes in providing public relations, media relations, marketing, brand management, community and social cause outreach, social media, advertising, campaign management, corporate communications, and consulting services for for-profit and non-profit companies.


Born, raised and raising a family in South Florida, Durée maintains a headquarters in Fort Lauderdale and a satellite office in Aspen, Colorado. Durée & Company has a wide variety of clients, and the firm has joined the ranks of some of the nation’s most elite professional organizations.

Her honors include being recognized by the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation at its 8th Annual Comedy Night in 2017. In 2016, she was a March of Dimes Women of Distinction honoree, and in 2013, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County named Durée one of 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County.

Beyond training her own team, Durée is in demand to present at various professional events and has served on a range of marketing panels. Some of her most noteworthy engagements include the South Florida Business Journal’s Bizwomen Mentoring Monday in Fort Lauderdale (2014–2017), the Women’s Success Summit IX, Miami (2014), and a recurring invitation to speak to students in the MBA program at FAU’s College of Business and at the University of Miami, her alma mater.

In addition, she volunteers her time and PR expertise to a number of non-profit organizations, including Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer, and MADD.

She is a published contributor to Inc. magazine, an American weekly magazine which publishes about small businesses and startups.

In 2018, Durée was invited to create and serve on the committee to establish Florida Atlantic University’s Women in Leadership program, which she did very successfully.

Prior to establishing Durée and Company, Durée honed her skills with DindyCo PR & Marketing; Best Buddies International, a non-profit organization founded and operated by Anthony Kennedy Shriver; and Zynyx Marketing Communications, which became The Nixon Group and is now part of the GolinHarris family. Durée presently resides in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, son and daughter.

Chrissy Cox

Vice President

A transplant to South Florida from Chicago, Chrissy Cox brings over 15 years of both agency and in-house experience working with lifestyle brands to the Durée & Company team, which she joined in January 2016. In her role as Vice President, Chrissy puts her Midwestern sensibility and strong work ethic into practice, executing successful campaigns for Durée & Company’s diverse set of clients.

Previously, Chrissy oversaw the public relations and marketing efforts for the North American flagship property of Sofitel Luxury Hotels, located in Chicago. Working with this French-based, global hotel chain only deepened her love for all things fashion, travel and culture. Prior to that, Chrissy was part of the Chicago team of the national boutique agency Wagstaff Worldwide, where she managed a number of high profile hospitality accounts.

In her free time, Chrissy daydreams about foreign travel and has even booked some stellar trips! She also enjoys being outdoors, visiting with friends, baking and discovering new restaurants. Chrissy attended Loyola University Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in in visual communications and marketing. She made certain to pursue a semester abroad in Rome, Italy, where she experienced la dolce vita firsthand. Today, she tries to live by this same philosophy and incorporate passion, gratitude and humor into her daily life.

Rachel Tabacnic

Rachel Tabacnic

Account Director

Rachel Tabacnic, account director at Durée & Company, brings a wide variety of public relations and social media experience to the firm. Since starting her career in 2006, she has served clients in industries including lifestyle, foodservice (including franchising), education, health care and wellness.

Rachel began her career working with foodservice giants such as Dairy Queen and Olive Garden. Over the years, she has had the privilege to work alongside a number of high level brands, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Massage Envy spa, Valpak, Pearle Vision and Quaker Steak & Lube, to name a few. She has served as an account manager, senior account manager and account director with various South Florida PR firms.

Rachel holds a bachelor of arts in communication studies from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Born and raised in Michigan, Rachel and her family traded the snow for sunshine and moved to South Florida after she graduated from high school. A resident of Coconut Creek, Rachel enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and exploring new restaurants throughout South Florida.

Ana María Colmenares

Account Manager

As an account manager at Durée & Company since 2014, Ana María oversees and directs media campaigns for the firm’s business, medical, real estate, legal and travel accounts, in addition to handling its Hispanic media outreach. Ana María began her career at the Daily Business Review in 2002, where she had the opportunity to cover a variety of business, legal, real estate and international news. She also served as real estate researcher and was in charge of putting together the Deal of the Day column.

Born in Colombia and raised in Switzerland, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela, Ana María is bilingual in English and Spanish and speaks conversational French. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Miami. She currently lives in Miami Beach with her husband and son.

Jenna Reed

Director of Operations

Bringing a wealth of diverse experience in development management, events & communications, and administration, Jenna Reed joined Durée & Company as director of operations in January 2018. In her position, Jenna manages and coordinates support services of the office, including operations, human resources, recordkeeping and more; and works on special events and marketing projects for the firm.

Most recently, Jenna served as the development and family support manager for Cure SMA, which leads the way to a world without spinal muscular atrophy, the No. 1 genetic cause of death for infants, in Fort Lauderdale. She has also worked as the events & communications manager for Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer in Davie since 2012.

Previously, she was the development director for the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation in Boca Raton. Before that time, she worked as a receptionist/administrative assistance at McGraw-Hill Financial in New York City. After graduating from college, she began her career as a community affairs/special events intern with the City of Boca Raton Recreation Services.

In 2016, Jenna was named a Social Media Up & Comer, Nonprofit category, by South Florida Business & Wealth magazine.

She holds a bachelor of science in event management and a minor in communications from Florida State University in Tallahassee.

A resident of Boca Raton, Jenna enjoys traveling, volunteering for various nonprofits, and hosting parties for any occasion for which she can find an excuse.

Jennifer Davis


Jennifer Davis brings over 20 years of professional copywriting experience to Durée & Company, which she joined in 2007. Her responsibilities include writing a variety of public relations and marketing materials, as well as editing.

Jennifer has been writing for numerous industries, including hospitality, travel & tourism, digital marketing, culture, non-profit, medical, health & wellness, real estate and education, since 2004.

Prior to that time, she served as corporate communications manager at Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida. There, she oversaw production of the monthly Premier Club magazine Boca Club Life, wrote extensive public relations and marketing materials, and worked with international, national and local media.

From 1994-98, Jennifer worked for Cunard cruise line, owner of the legendary QE2 ocean liner and luxury cruise ships, as an onboard public relations liaison and daily newsletter editor. During this time, she traveled around the world, visiting and experiencing approximately 60 countries.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Journalism.

She currently resides in Palm Beach County, Florida with her husband and two children.

Caroline Williams

Senior Account Executive

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Caroline Williams’ love for the South Florida community and media brought her to the world of marketing and events.

She began working in event production at a boutique events company in Fort Lauderdale, where she assisted in planning grand openings, press conferences, galas, and boat show events. She then worked for an event venue in downtown Orlando, where she managed the execution of various events.

Caroline joined the Durée & Company team in September 2015 and is excited to learn and grow in the public relations industry.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a bachelor’s degree in event management. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Abbie Lipton

Senior Account Executive

Abbie Lipton brings her passion and experience for public relations, social media, broadcasting and event planning to Durée & Company, which she joined in November 2017 as a senior account executive.

Abbie brings over five years of both in-house and agency experience to the team, and has worked with lifestyle, hospitality, beauty and fashion brands.

Born and raised in South Florida, Abbie longed to move back to the beach after pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in communication from Florida State University. While at FSU, Abbie was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

In her free time, Abbie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to the beach and concerts, and watching the FSU Seminoles.

Samantha Mozdzierz

Account Executive

Born and raised in South Florida, Samantha Mozdzierz is an integral part of the Durée & Company team, which she joined in June 2016 as an intern. She was hired as an account coordinator at the firm in August 2016, and made an account executive in June 2017.

Samantha developed a passion for the public relations, marketing and special events industry when she worked at Narcissus, a women’s boutique in Tallahassee. There, she coordinated social media and assisted with the planning, staffing and management of various special events.

She is a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing and real estate. While at FSU, she was a majorette leader, and traveled to various bowl games and a national championship. She was also a member of the American Marketing Association, as well as Zeta Tau Alpha. In addition, she was a dancer with Dance Marathon, which raised over $1 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys twirling baton, going to the beach, and attending football games on the weekends. She currently resides in Wellington, Florida.

Jackie Awve

Marketing/Advertising Strategic Partner

With over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, Jackie Awve is an expert in commercial real estate and online marketing. Having worked with Durée & Company since 2010, she prides herself on being able to offer clients a unique combination of marketing expertise and commercial real estate industry know-how.

Jackie’s passion for commercial real estate began in 2006 when she joined Building Owners and Managers (BOMA) while working for a South Florida boutique marketing agency. Through BOMA, she developed a clear vision of how the management of commercial real estate property contributes to the asset value. Also since 2006, she has served on The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY) Awards committee, which organizes the competition and awards gala event that honors excellence in commercial building management.

She later served in a dual marketing/property management position at Duke Realty, repositioning The Shops at Pembroke Gardens in Pembroke Pines, Florida. There, she successfully created and implemented an integrated marketing program branding the shopping center as a sophisticated entertainment destination. The program addressed customer, tenant, and community relations while coordinating efforts of over 70 retail and dining establishments and included television, print, web, strategic alliances, social media, and special events with a goal of increasing traffic and generating sales. It was through Jackie’s experience with The Shops at Pembroke Gardens that she began working with Durée & Company.

Jackie currently resides in Fort Lauderdale with her husband and two sons.
