On May 21, you may see some of your friends, co-workers and family members channeling Bozo the Clown or Rudolph the Reindeer because they will be sporting big red noses.
Don’t be alarmed. The circus is not in town, and it’s not Christmas coming early.
May 21 is Red Nose Day, a day when laughter, comedy and light-heartedness will be used to raise funds nationwide for 12 charities that aim to change children’s lives. Red Nose Day will mean even more to you if you visit a Walgreens and purchase a red nose to wear for the day, then tune in that night for a three-hour comedy telethon on NBC.
The trickle-down effect of this national campaign will affect kids and families right here in South Florida, thanks to Feeding America™ and Boys & Girls Clubs of America being two of the 12 beneficiaries. At South Florida PR firm Durée & Company, two of our clients, Feeding South Florida™ and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, will reap part of the benefits of everyone’s spirited participation.
The Durée & Company team is working with local NBC affiliate NBC 6 to help share how much work Feeding South Florida and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade do to help educate, support and nurture local families. We hope the news will inspire you to be a little silly for a good cause, share a laugh or two, and encourage others to help.
Hopefully, on one special day, the world will laugh – and give – with you.
