Brings Groundbreaking Approach to Neuroplasticity

Practice Uses Revolutionary Methods to Offer Individualized Treatment
for Mental, Physical, Neurological and Nutritional Health

Miami, Fla. — A groundbreaking medical practice offering a groundbreaking approach to neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain and spinal cord to change and reorganize themselves), South Florida Integrative Health (SFIH) recently debuted in Miami. SFIH focuses on individualized treatment of mental, physical, neurological and nutritional health, by providing brain-based solutions.

The practice is owned by Dr. David Traster, DC, MS, DACNB, FABBIR, PAK, PES, CES; and Dr. Kelsey Brenner, DC, DACNB, FABBIR, integrative health coach.

“While in the past, it was argued that neuroplasticity was limited to early childhood, it has now been proven that brain remodeling can take place on a large scale at any age,” said Dr. Traster. “One of neuroplasticity’s key principles is that brain activity promotes brain reorganization. Neurological-based rehabilitation strategies can aim to manipulate the molecules, cells, and connections of networks of specific areas of the nervous system.”

SFIH’s focus areas include:

  • Brain optimization / development
  • Trauma & injury
  • Neurodevelopment
  • Neurodegeneration

SFIH’s methods to enhance neuroplasticity include:

  • Functional neurology — building new connections
  • Chiropractic neurology — supplying appropriate feedback
  • Neurofeedback — regulating brain wave patterns
  • Functional medicine — metabolic support
  • Health coaching + education — neuroscience of behavior change

SFIH’s approach includes:

  • Advanced diagnostics
  • Customized treatment plans tailored to each patient
  • Follow-up care

In addition, SFIH offers an Intensive Program — one to two weeks of therapy that can make a dramatic impact on one’s state of being. The program typically consists of two to four patient therapy sessions a day. Each therapy session may last from 30 to 60 minutes. Depending on a number of circumstances, the program typically lasts between one and two weeks. Afterward, patients are given at-home exercises to perform in order to continue progress if necessary.

“We at SFIH take the time, and provide the expertise, to evaluate each individual patient’s specific needs,” said Dr. Brenner. “Our individualized treatment makes us one of the area’s preeminent practices for mental, physical, neurological and nutritional health. Our recent opening perfectly coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month (May).”
