As 2017 comes to a close, we are looking back at the record-breaking and spectacular year Durée & Company has had! The agency’s 17th year of incorporation was marked by significant national awards our team received. Let’s take a look back at four of our awards from 2017:

  1. PR News’ Top Women in PR

We kicked off the year with an extraordinary national honor awarded to President and CEO, Durée Ross! PR News’ Top Women in PR list is comprised of the most influential women in PR from around the country – the ones who are innovating in their companies and in the industry. Durée received the award in New York City surrounded by fellow national industry leaders.

  1. Bulldog Awards’ Small Agency of the Year

The D&Co dynamos were awarded silver in the Small Agency of the Year category from Bulldog Reporter, a leader in industry media intelligence focusing on the public relations industry. Bulldog Awards honor the best and brightest globally, and they recognized our rock star team!

  1. Stevie Awards’ Entrepreneur of the Year

Durée Ross founded this agency in 1999 and has created and implemented numerous inventive public relations and marketing campaigns for an extensive client roster. As a testament to her years of experience and ingenuity, she was awarded the bronze award for Entrepreneur of the Year at The Stevie Awards for Women in Business hosted in New York City in November. The Stevies are the world’s premier business awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run.

  1. Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Honoree

Giving back is an integral part of the Durée & Company DNA and our company regularly volunteers and sponsors events in the community. This year, Durée Ross served as honoree during Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s 8th Annual Comedy Night. The foundation raises funds towards finding a cure for the painful and debilitating digestive diseases affecting more than 1.6 million children and adults across the United States.

Rachel Sapoznik, Founder, CEO & President of Sapoznik Insurance, Named a Finalist for the Stevie® Awards for Women in Business

Miami, Fla. — Oct. 23, 2017 — Rachel Sapoznik, Founder, CEO & President of Sapoznik Insurance, based in North Miami Beach, was named a finalist for the Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year — Business Services — 11 to 2,500 Employees — All Other Industries, category. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s premier business awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the companies they run.

Finalists were selected by the average scores of more than 170 professionals worldwide serving on five specialized judging committees. The results — Gold, Silver and Bronze winners — will be announced at the Stevies’ 14th annual awards dinner on Nov. 17 in New York City.

“Every year we say that the current crop of Stevies for Women nominations couldn’t be better, and the next year we’re proven wrong,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.  “The judges’ scores and comments bear witness to the fact that this year we will honor a truly remarkable class of women and women-led organizations in New York on November 17.”

Sapoznik Insurance is currently the largest employee benefits agency, as well as one of the largest independently owned agencies, in the South Florida region. She is an expert on healthcare reform, corporate wellness, and entrepreneurship, and has been featured in several national and local mediums. She stands out as a passionate voice emphasizing the value and necessity of education and wellness in helping manage costs for the employer while improving the lives of their employees.

“I am incredibly honored to be named a finalist for the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, especially as we celebrate our 30th anniversary,” said Sapoznik. “Thirty years ago, I took a huge leap and founded Sapoznik Insurance from my home. Today, we help companies around the country make health a priority without the fear of offering health insurance they cannot afford. We support companies making the paradigm shift from ‘sick care’ to ‘well care,’ and empower employees to achieve physical and financial well-being while strengthening companies’ bottom lines.”

Three is a Wonderful Number for the Stevie Awards

In 2012, our public relations firm, Durée & Company, was thrilled to win the Bronze Stevie® Award (also known as The American Business Award) for the first time, for Female Entrepreneur of the Year, in the category of firms with fewer than 10 employees. After all, The Stevie Awards are known as the world’s premier business award competitions.

And then in June 2013, we at Durée & Company were elated to win the Silver Stevie for Communications or PR Campaign/Program of the Year – Reputation/Brand Management. The recognition was for my PR team’s work on Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Campaign: Reinventing a 73-Year Tradition.

Low and behold, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, we were notified that we were once again named a Stevie finalist!  On this occasion, our team is being honored in the category of Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Crisis Communications for “Turning a South Florida Crash into a Happy Ending Across the Nation.” Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, Nov. 8.

A little background: The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide.

Kudos to our dear friend and client Eris Thomas, CEO of Coral Gables Executive Physicians, who is a finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category this year.

While the first Stevie Award was a thrill, with this latest recognition, to say that we’re happy, ecstatic and over the moon is a gross understatement. Maybe in the spirit of the day, we’ll just say what we’re really feeling three times with gusto – thank you, thank you, thank you!
