The Community Foundation of Broward celebrated the Black community’s deep commitment to charitable giving that transforms lives and shapes a brighter future with a Black Philanthropy Donor Reception on March 18, 2026.
Throughout its more than 40-year history, the Community Foundation of Broward has partnered with local philanthropists and community leaders to forge collaborations, remove barriers to success and invest in opportunities to help make life better for everyone who calls Broward home.
“Cherish Diversity” is one of the five values that guide the Community Foundation’s leadership initiatives and community grantmaking. Since 2022, it has increased outreach efforts to engage and partner with more Black philanthropists who are creating lasting impact in the community.
These new collaborations have resulted in a 71 percent increase in charitable funds established by Black philanthropists at the Community Foundation.
Guests in attendance enjoyed light bites while listening to remarks from Community Foundation of Broward Board Chair Jonathan Allen; Community Foundation of Broward Board Vice Chair Burnadette Norris-Weeks; Community Foundation of Broward President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, PH.D; Community Foundation of Broward Vice President of Philanthropic Services Kelly Marmol; and Community Foundation of Broward Director of Donor Services Jasmine Lewis-Fontus.
“We are proud to celebrate the impact of Black philanthropy in our community,” said Community Foundation of Broward, President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson. “This event was a wonderful opportunity to foster meaningful connections and deepen engagement with a growing network of local philanthropists who share a commitment to shaping a brighter future for Broward. We are honored to partner with a growing number of Black philanthropists and community leaders who are creating lasting impact in our community. Black philanthropists increasingly view the Community Foundation as a trusted partner in bringing their enduring legacies to life. It’s about creating a legacy that lasts forever.”
