Bryant Miller Olive P.A. (BMO) is pleased to announce that JoLinda Herring, Esq., a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, was elected as BMO’s new chief executive officer and managing shareholder. Grace Dunlap, Esq., who has served as BMO’s managing shareholder since 2010, will now serve as the firm’s Chairman of the Board.

Herring joined BMO as a law clerk in 1994, and upon admission to The Florida Bar in 1996, she began as a practicing attorney with the firm. Most recently, Herring served as co-chair of BMO’s Public Finance Group, as well as chair of the firm’s Board of Directors. In 2020, she was also appointed to the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be appointed as BMO’s new CEO and managing shareholder,” said Herring. “As a member of this prestigious firm for more than 25 years, I look forward to serving as its leader. BMO has an esteemed five-decade history of providing the highest quality representation in some of the most complex and technical areas of governmental law and public advocacy.

“It is a privilege to take over from Grace Dunlap, who has continued to strengthen the firm’s culture of teamwork and focus on diversity and inclusion of all,” she continued.

Herring’s practice is dedicated to municipal law, governmental tax-exempt financings and blue sky securities law, with expertise in commercial paper programs. She has a specialty in representing pooled programs. Herring currently serves as bond counsel to the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission and was also instrumental in creating the Florida Municipal Loan Council and the Florida Rural Utility Financing Commission; she currently serves as bond counsel to both entities.

She has also served as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel to various governmental entities across the State of Florida, State of Connecticut and State of Louisiana. She is listed in the Municipal Bond Attorneys’ section of The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace.

Herring graduated from Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, Florida. She received an MBA in finance with honors from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

“JoLinda is an excellent choice for CEO and managing partner of BMO,” said Grace Dunlap, BMO’s Chairman of the Board. “Her exceptional leadership has not only had a strong impact on our firm, but also outside of the firm on a local, statewide and national level. At BMO, we are all looking forward to seeing the firm’s success continue to expand under JoLinda’s leadership.”
