FLIPANY’s Aug. 26 “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale Annual Dinner Served Up an Epicurean Adventure with Renowned Area Chefs, Raising Nearly $40,000

Proceeds Benefit Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ Program

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Sept. 21, 2016) – More than 100 guests experienced an unforgettable gastronomical evening, raising nearly $40,000 for Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ program, at the Aug. 26, 6th annual “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale dinner, reception and auction. The epicurean event, hosted by non-profit organization FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth) and presented by Holman Automotive, presented decadent five-course dinners prepared by 10 of South Florida’s most acclaimed chefs.

Parties of 10 reveled in delightful meals prepared tableside by the renowned chefs, as well as exquisite wine pairings. “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale took place aboard the South Beach Lady Yacht, which cruised down the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, and was emceed by Kimmy B, morning show co-host of Miami radio station HITS 97.3.

The “Chefs Up Front” Fort Lauderdale chef lineup included Chef Jason Smith of the W Fort Lauderdale hotel, Chef Robyn Almodovar of Palate Party, Chef Mike White of Tsukuro, Chef Eric Baker of Max’s Harvest, Chef Steve Zobel of Big City Tavern, Chef Adrienne Grenier of 3030 Ocean, Chef Ned Jaouhar of The Rusty Hook Tavern, Chef Michael Bloise of Ocean2000, and Chef Rolando Centonzio of Shooters Waterfront & The Grateful Palate.

Cooking Matters is a program that teaches children and their families how to make healthy food choices, cook healthy meals and shop for nutritious foods on a budget. All funds raised from the event support Cooking Matters for a total of 500 participants: schoolchildren and their families in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The “Chefs Up Front” dinner also took place in Miami on Sept. 9, 2016 at The Biltmore hotel in Coral Gables.
