GOLDLAW CEO Craig Goldenfarb Announces Recipients of Fifth Annual $10.5K Scholarship Benefitting the Pre-Law Academy at Palm Beach Lakes High

Craig Goldenfarb, Esq., founder and CEO of GOLDLAW in West Palm Beach, Florida, is proud to announce the recipients of the Fifth Annual Emanuel McMiller Scholarship for Higher Education (EMSHE). The EMSHE is awarded to seniors and alumni of The Gerald A. Williams Center for Pre-Law at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School as they apply and matriculate to college and/or law school.

The primary goals of EMSHE are: (1) to help unsupported and/or under-resourced students be more competitive in pursuing college and law school opportunities; and (2) to help recipients establish a support system to guide them on their journey to the legal profession.

GOLDLAW will host an awards ceremony at its West Palm Beach office on Wednesday, May 27, at 3 p.m. Members of the media are invited to attend and may do so by RSVPing to goldlaw@dureeandcompany.com.

This year’s $10,500 award, donated by GOLDLAW, will be split between seven outstanding alumni of the Center for Pre-Law. Five out of the seven grantees are high school seniors. Shirley Maxime (awarded $2,500) will be a first-year law student this Fall at St. Thomas University College of Law where she anticipates graduating in 2029 with her Juris Doctor. Shirley is a graduate (Class of 2024) of Florida Atlantic University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Shirley is an alumnus (Class of 2019) of the Center for Pre-Law, where she also served as a Law Club member. Shirley is also a prior EMSHE Award Recipient.

Miriam Vidaurre-Zarate (awarded $1,500) is a graduate (Class of 2025) of Florida International University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science magna cum laude. Miriam is an alumnus (Class of 2021) of the Center for Pre-Law. Miriam was active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as mock trial captain, moot court attorney, Law Club President, Law Honor Society President, and a Youth Court attorney. Miriam is also a prior EMSHE Award Recipient.

Andre’Anna Hodges (awarded $1,500) is currently a junior at Florida Atlantic University where she anticipates graduating in 2027 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Andre’Anna is an alumnus (Class of 2024) of the Center for Pre-Law. Andre’Anna was active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as a mock trial team member, Law Club Executive Board member, and Youth Court Attorney. Andre’Anna is also a prior EMSHE Award Recipient.

Ada Erazo-Motino (awarded $1,000) is a senior (Class of 2026) at Palm Beach Lakes and will be attending University of Central Florida this Fall where she anticipates graduating in 2030 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Ada is active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as a mock trial co-captain, Law Club President, Law Honor Society President, and a Youth Court attorney.

Morgan Dixon (awarded $2,000) is a senior (Class of 2026) at Palm Beach Lakes and will be attending Louisiana State University this Fall where she anticipates graduating in 2030 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Morgan is active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as a mock trial team member, a Law Club and Law Honor Society Executive Board member, and a Youth Court attorney.

Saphira Southall (awarded $1,000) is a senior (Class of 2026) at Palm Beach Lakes and will be attending Bethune-Cookman University this Fall where she anticipates graduating in 2030 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Saphira is active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as a mock trial team member, Law Club Executive Board member, Law Honor Society member, and Youth Court participant.

Zion Lee (awarded $1,000) is a senior (Class of 2026) at Palm Beach Lakes and will be attending Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University this Fall where he anticipates graduating in 2030 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Zion is active in the Center for Pre-Law, serving as a Law Club member and a Youth Court attorney.

The scholarship is named for Emanuel McMiller, a former employee of GOLDLAW, and an alumnus (Class of 2010) of the Center for Pre-Law at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School. McMiller earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 2019 and is now a business litigation associate at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana and Fort Myers, Florida. McMiller, a first-generation lawyer, credits the faculty, staff, and supporters of the Center for Pre-Law for giving him a head start in developing the critical skills necessary to achieve success in law school and the legal profession.

“Emanuel is a remarkable young man who exemplifies character and promise, and it has been a true privilege to be part of his journey,” said Goldenfarb. “Emanuel has been a profound source of inspiration to me. So much so that he motivated my commitment to establish this scholarship, which will support and uplift students like him for many years to come.”

The Gerald A. Williams Center for Pre-Law at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School is the first and only magnet program of its kind in Palm Beach County. The program’s objectives are: (1) to provide students with an in-depth understanding of how our legal system impacts every aspect of our society; (2) to provide school-to-work pathways in law-related careers; and (3) to provide leadership opportunities throughout the school and community. Goldenfarb and his firm, GOLDLAW, are active in their community, supporting programs and organizations that benefit the underserved communities in the areas of sports, education, and disease affliction.
