March is always one of our favorite months in South Florida. It’s sunny, but not too hot. The breezes are light with no hints of hurricane.
It’s also a great time to get outside to walk or run. We’re choosing our exercise regime with a heart-filled purpose. On March 30, Feeding South Florida will hold its 4th Annual March for Hunger 5K Run/Walk along the scenic Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, named as one of the best beach boardwalks in the United States.
We simply can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring than by helping others, and having fun while doing it. Registering is easy and only $35.
With that and a pair of running shoes, you can help put food on the table for a child, a family, or a older adult. Feeding South Florida is a non-profit organization that operates on the simple principle of ending hunger by reducing waste. FSF and its 325 Partner Agencies (PAs) help provide individuals and families in need with the necessary fuel to survive and thrive.
As South Florida’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, FSF’s network of PAs supply food to nearly 1 million South Floridians experiencing food insecurity during the year. For every dollar donated, FSF can provide six meals.
Can you imagine that your walking, running or strolling down a beautiful boardwalk can help provide meals for those in need of food assistance? It’s wonderful weather for a great cause. Come outside and join us.
