Entrepreneur, philanthropist and MLB All Star Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) and A-Rod Corp. will once again make the holidays brighter for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade youth members. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 3-7 p.m., A-Rod will present age-appropriate toys, provided by A-Rod Corp., to youth members aged 5 to 17 at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club.
During the event, area youth and their families will enjoy holiday activities including a petting zoo provided by Tinez Farms, face painting, a bounce house, a Christmas card making station, visits with Santa, photo opportunities, food and more.
City of Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez, County Commissioner Raquel Regalado and City of Miami Commissioner Manolo Reyes will be in attendance. Santa will even make a grand entrance landing a helicopter on the Club’s baseball field.
Before A-Rod became a baseball star, he learned to play the game at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club. He flourished at the Club, staying a member until the day he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He is now a television baseball analyst for Fox Sports and ESPN, and a longtime board member for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and also for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
“We are incredibly humbled by the continuous support from A-Rod, A-Rod Corp. and its family of companies, for generously hosting this holiday event and donating gifts to our youth members,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade President Alex Rodriguez-Roig. “Our youth members will not only cherish their new toys but the memories of meeting A-Rod and enjoying the holiday party, for years to come.”
The event is sponsored by A-Rod Corp. and its family of companies, including Florida Physicians PSN, Metro Fund and Nelson Lopez.
