OPTIWOW_regAt award-winning South Florida PR firm Durée & Company, we’re big fans of “unique holidays.” While these may not be “official” holidays, we see the value in celebrating these days. Our favorite type of unique holiday is one that provides the opportunity to benefit the community. On Saturday, Aug. 15, Durée & Company will be spending the day celebrating Amblyopia Awareness Month with clients Optiwow and Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants.

Vision Screening Flyer FinalAmblyopia, also known as lazy eye, is the loss or lack of development of vision in an eye. Optiwow and Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants are teaming up with the Division of Ophthalmology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to offer free vision screenings for children aged 3–6 years. The event will take place at the hospital’s Division of Ophthalmology, located at 3100 SW 62 Avenue, Suite 103, Miami, FL 33155. Make sure to register your little ones for their free back-to-school screenings by calling 305-662-8390.

Dr. Roberto Warman, president of Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants and director of the Division of Ophthalmology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, is an event sponsor. He and his wife Ivonne Goldstein have owned Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultants for more than 25 years.

They created Optiwow.com to provide a large selection of well-fit, high quality and reasonably priced prescription eyewear for children and teens. Goldstein and Dr. Warman created the site when their optical shop of the same name – Optiwow, also located at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital – recently celebrated 15 years in business.

Remember to RSVP, as registration is required!
