The original “Basic Girl,” Cristie Besu, is Eat Me Guilt Free’s CEO and founder, and a Miami-based Cuban-American businesswoman. She started baking her Eat Me Guilt Free treats straight out of her own kitchen in 2013. This was while she was working as a registered nurse and certified sports nutritionist. Besu created the company to fill a void for her original customers.

Starting with a team of three, she worked closely with clients to craft nutrition programs, helping them with everything from disease management to improving labs, to just being able to move and feel better about themselves.

Since then, she and her team have worked hard to help consumers feel less restricted and more open to being able to enjoy the everyday foods they love, without sacrificing taste. The company now boasts a team of 30 and continues to create unique products and fun flavors for everyone to enjoy.

“The ‘Basic Girl’ fall starter pack will kick off the fall season with lots of guilt-free joy for that perfect person,” said Besu. “Enjoying the fall holidays does not need to be accompanied by guilt about what one is putting in her/his body. I founded Eat Me Guilt Free based on social listening, and this starter pack is a perfect reflection of our mission: to make people feel good about what they are eating, while being healthy and having some fun.”
