Valley View, an independent, not-for-profit health system based in Glenwood Springs, has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals by the 2023 Women’s Choice Award, a trusted referral source for the best in healthcare. Valley View has received recognition in the following categories:

  • Best Small Hospitals – Comprehensive Care (25–100 beds)
  • Best Hospitals for Heart Care
  • Best Hospitals for Minimally Invasive Surgery

The Women’s Choice Award only awards the top 10% of hospitals in the nation. The award signifies that Valley View is in the top 2% for best small hospitals in comprehensive care (25–100 beds), top 5% for heart care and top 8% for minimally invasive surgeries.

“Reflecting our dedication to high-quality, compassionate care, it is a great honor to receive the Women’s Choice Award in comprehensive care, heart care and minimally invasive surgery,” said Emily McCarty, MD, medical director of Women’s Health at Valley View. “From obstetric to fertility, and from gynecology to comprehensive women’s health services, we offer essential preventive care for women throughout all phases of their lives.”

The Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals is a trusted referral source and credential that identifies the nation’s best hospitals based on robust criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction and appropriate accreditations. The Best Hospitals demonstrate exceptional ratings, providing the highest level of care and commitment to their patients’ health and well-being. The Women’s Choice Award is the only designation that takes into consideration the preferences of women when selecting a hospital.

In determining its Best Hospitals list, the Women’s Choice Award uses the most recent publicly available clinical data from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, relevant accreditation information from appropriate sources and the American Hospital Directory.

With an experienced team of OB/GYN specialists and certified midwives, Women’s Health at Valley View is dedicated to providing the highest level of women’s healthcare through all stages of life through obstetric, fertility, gynecology, and comprehensive women’s health services. Each aspect of its Glenwood Springs, Basalt, Eagle and Silt locations is formulated with its patients in mind in order to offer more comfortable consultations and treatments.
