Now, there’s a fantastic new cultural option right at Fort Lauderdale Beach: exploring the food, art, music and entertainment activities with FAME.
FAME, which stands for “Food/Fashion. Art. Music. Entertainment.,” is produced by the It’s Better On The Beach marketing umbrella, including Fort Lauderdale Beach’s local landmark establishments Spazio, Tsukuro, Sangrias, St. Barts Café, Blondies and Rock Bar. It strives to shine a light on Fort Lauderdale Beach as a destination for locals and visitors looking to engage with local artists, experience the beach’s unique and eclectic culture, and enjoy its well-established and growing dining scene. The program will spotlight arts and entertainment events, as well as culinary and beverage promotions.
It’s Better On The Beach is kicking off its new and innovative FAME summer events programming with a launch party, held in conjunction with the summer issue release party for Fort Lauderdale magazine. The party will take place Thursday, July 2 from 7–9 p.m. at Spazio Italian Restaurant and Wine Lounge, located at 239 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.
Sponsored by Spazio, Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum and Peroni Beer, the evening will feature Shop 603 Las Olas’ “Life’s A Beach” fashion stroll modeled by the global beauties of Ms. International World, while Melodie Blaize of Sniptease will bring fashion to life by creating unique one-of-a-kind wearable art in front of guests.
During the FAME launch party, the second annual Absolut Art showcase will feature Laurence Gartel’s Chrysler 300 Art Car and new Tie Collection alongside works by noted local artists Carlos A. Navarro, Joshua Oliviera, Michelle “Mishu” Fazaeli, Vanessa Vita, Noi Amar and Joseph “Joey Waves” Weiner. Guests inspired to create their own works of art can enjoy the interactive #BestSummerEver Art of the Selfie Station presented by Malibu Rum and #SayItWithClicquot Art of Spoken Word presented by Veuve Clicquot Rose. A real-time broadcast of tweets, posts and video will come to life through a live feed on four flat screen TVs. Erin Mia Milchman, Fort Lauderdale magazine and rAv Communications are co-producing the event.
