Every Day in June is a Food Holiday at Tsukuro

tsukuro icon blackAs a culture, we love celebrations. Americans celebrate historical milestones (Independence Day is July 4), health initiatives (National Running Safety Month is November), romance (World Kiss Day is July 6), and our pets (National Dog Day is August 26). Google it. We’re not making this up.

So why not celebrate our favorite foods? Someone must have thought of this after a good meal of lobster and an Arnold Palmer because June is National Seafood Month and Iced Tea Month.

In recognition of this important culinary month, our client Tsukuro, a fabulous new Asian-inspired eatery on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, has come up with something special to mark on our summer calendars.

For National Seafood Month lovers, Head Sushi Chef Tian “Tim” Huang will be “rolling” out seven new sushi creations including the Heartbreaker (spicy tuna, tempura flake, tuna, spicy mayo and kimchee sauce), Dancing Eel (salmon, avocado, cream cheese, eel and eel sauce), Venetian (tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon and mozzarella), Volcano (crab, cucumber, avocado, baked scallop and masago), Endless Summer (riceless with tuna, spicy salmon, hamachi, spring mix and vinegar), Bejeweled (salmon, avocado, spicy mayo and salmon roe) and Fire + Ice (tuna, salmon, avocado, white fish, jalapeno and masago).

_GSP2932Sushi lovers should also circle Tuesday, June 10, when Chef Tim will pair 12 of Tsukuro’s most popular rolls including the Caviar Roll, Fresh King Crab Roll, and Lobster Roll with a premium selection of sakes and wines for Tsukuro’s first sushi tasting event. Only 16 seats are available for this indulging and informative evening. Tickets can be reserved by calling 954-523-1407. The sushi tasting for June 10 is sold out, but mark July 8, 2014 on your calendars for the next sushi tasting event. The tastings will also continue on the second Tuesday of each month and cost $55 per person.

Guests can continue to celebrate their love for sushi on National Sushi Day (Wednesday, June 18) with a 50 percent discount on any sushi roll, when they post their selection on Instagram or Facebook with the tags #SushiDay and #TsukuroFL. Limit of one per person.

If you celebrate National Iced Tea Month (of course, you do!), Tsukuro is launching its own variation of Afternoon Tea, served daily from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Diners can select one of Tsukuro’s Tea Forté varieties such as Orange Pekoe, Morrocan Mint or Chamomile Citron and pair it with Tsukuro’s take on English tea sandwiches: Cucumber, Salmon or Tuna Rolls.

IMG_8507For tea with attitude, visitors can sip on Tea Forté-infused cocktails. Cocktails include the Malibu Earl of Paradise Punch, Island Spice Iced Tea, Basil Mo-tea-to, Midnight Cowboy, and the Tea-Tini. Tea-Pitcher Cocktails are suitable for two to share.

July is National Berry, Ice Cream and Grilling Month. We think you see where this is going …
