Four Tips for Aligning Swag with Your Marketing Strategy

By April 16, 2019No Comments

At Aspen and Fort Lauderdale PR Agency Durée & Company, launching, building, or re-establishing a brand is what we were born to do. Branding is woven into every tactic or strategy we have to make a company, persona or service not only well-known, but also well-liked. Sometimes, the simplest thing like adding promotional products to your marketing mix adds an innovative and tangible dimension to your brand message. According to Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), promotional products make up a $24.7 billion industry. While the world is going digital, we know that people still love stuff they can touch and feel, leaving a lasting impression of your business.

The Dynamos have put together a list of 4 tips to successfully fit swag in your marketing strategy.

  • Be Consistent. Keep your swag on brand and consistent across all avenues of promotion. Using the exact same fonts, colors, formats, etc. on everything you create is key. At Durée & Company, we create a custom style guide for our clients that is easy to share with graphic designers and promo suppliers when ordering swag.
  • Be unique. If you attempt to mimic a competitor’s brand, people won’t have a compelling reason to choose you over your competition. As you may have noticed from our business cards, website and company logo, Durée & Company is all about pink. From the notepads to the artwork on the walls – even to the rosé chilling in the fridge – the whole office is pink. We have developed an image that is wholly our own and stands out from the competition.
  • Splurge. Cheap, low-quality swag rarely makes people fall in love with a product. Make it good. Invest your time researching it, and invest your money in something even you would use.
  • Customize it. By creating a piece of swag unique to your brand, you ignite the wow factor. While creating your product, it’s important to source swag that will speak to your target audience and demographic, as well as reflect your industry. For example, for our real estate clients we think about the profile of the buyer and what they would use. If you’re selling a property on the ocean, you may want to consider handing out a custom beach bag, branded towel or floppy hat. You can even brand your own sunscreen!

From selfie lights, iridescent backpacks, nail files, and water bottles, Durée & Company has it all. We even source our own promo items (at a really good price)! Need some direction with taking your brand to the next level? The Dynamos have you covered.
