ACTA NON VERBA II : PERFORMANCESouth Florida has an amazing art scene, and we are proud to have one of the best museums as a client. The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, better known as MOCA, showcases some of the most intriguing and dynamic exhibits. At Durée & Company, we love a good art history lesson, so this upcoming exhibit is a real treat.

From March 24 through May 29, 2016, MOCA will exhibit, “Acta Non Verba” by French- Guadeloupean artist, Marielle Plaisir. Her work features paintings, drawings, textile/fiber installations, and tableau vivant performances that capture highly intense visual experiences. The exhibition addresses both historical and personal issues about colonialism, domination, and the construction of identity. The show’s highlight includes an installation of paper mache dresses mounted on wire frames that are then illuminated and suspended in air.

MOCA is a must-see – it’s truly a place for exciting dialogue on the contemporary art scene. Featuring a permanent collection of approximately 600 works, MOCA makes contemporary art accessible to diverse audiences year-round.

The opening reception for Acta Non Verba is Thursday, March 31 from 7-9 p.m. We hope to see you there!
