Rocky Mountain Urology Center at Valley View Welcomes Board-Certified Urologist Scott Castle, MD

Rocky Mountain Urology Center at Valley View is pleased to welcome board-certified Urologist Scott Castle, MD. Valley View, an independent, nonprofit health system based in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, offers the most comprehensive care in the Valley.

Joining board-certified Urologists Aashish Kabra, MD; Jamie Lowe, MD; and nurse practitioner Ashley Gilley, ANP at Rocky Mountain Urology Center, Dr. Castle is a general urologist with vast experience treating all urologic conditions. These include kidney stones, incontinence, bladder and kidney cancer, and men’s health issues. He is also a leader in da Vinci surgery, a minimally-invasive treatment for benign and cancerous conditions.

Prior to joining the Valley View family, he practiced in Columbia, South Carolina, where he was an assistant professor of surgery at the South Carolina College of Medicine. He is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has conducted a number of clinical trials throughout his career.

Dr. Castle received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and completed his urology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the University of Miami School of Medicine.

When it comes to his patients, Dr. Castle prioritizes his relationships. “I have a history of cancer in my family, which informs the way I do my job today,” he said. “I create bonds with my patients so I can give them the same empathy and personalized treatment I wanted for my own family members.”

“Dr. Castle is a wonderful addition to Rocky Mountain Urology Center’s team of experts in general urology, who have subspecialty experience in urologic cancers, female urology and kidney stone disease,” said practice partners, Aashish Kabra, MD and Jamie Lowe, MD. “With his exceptional background in treating all urologic conditions, he will help us expand our care and coverage to the community.”

Dr. Castle and his wife have two children, and physical activity is a major pastime for all of them. He is a former Ironman athlete, and these days enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, happy to be in the mountains with easy access to skiing and other wintertime activities.

As the only full-time urology practice in the region from Roaring Fork Valley and Vail to De Beque, Rocky Mountain Urology Center is the most comprehensive urology group in the area. It offers locations in Aspen, Eagle, Rifle, and Glenwood Springs, reducing travel and wait times.

Dr. Castle is now welcoming new patients at Rocky Mountain Urology Center at Valley View. Patients may call 970.928.0808 to learn more or schedule an appointment.
