Three Ways to Give This #GivingTuesday 2017

By November 27, 2017May 23rd, 2018No Comments

It’s Here! #GivingTuesday has arrived on the tails of a weekend full of family and friends – and lots of shopping. Today is all about giving back to your community and the institutions that help it thrive. Here at Durée & Company, we love giving back in any way possible to our local community. In honor of this holiday, we wanted to share some ways you could contribute today and every day.

  • Volunteering:
No matter your schedule, there are many ways to get involved with local and national charities by volunteering your time or unique skills to aid in a particular organization’s mission. For example, The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA) is always looking for volunteers for their in-house departments. Participating in events such as Parkinson’s Foundation South Palm Beach County Chapter’s ‘Rock the Runway’ Fashion Show on January 19, 2018 at Boca Rio Golf Club or register to run or walk at the Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K on April 29, 2018 are both great ways to get involved.’
  • Donating:
Don’t have the time to volunteer? Donate. With the touch of a click, you can donate to organizations such as FLIPANY. Their $20 for 20 campaign gives 20 children year-round healthy meals paired with nutrition education. This is an example of how a small donation can make a huge impact! You don’t have to do this alone – get your family, friends or coworkers together and fundraise for the American Cancer Society’s Celebration Gala on May 5, 2018, at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.
  • Charitable Shopping:
With the increase in customer awareness, companies across the world are joining together with charities to donate a portion of their proceeds. For example, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is selling Christmas trees, wreaths and other holiday decorations with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami Dade and providing great futures for area youth. The Christmas City Centre Tree Lot sponsored by Swire Properties Inc is open seven days a week from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. at the Hank Kline Club at 2805 SW 32nd Ave. Miami, FL 33133. The lot will remain open until the trees are sold out.

We’d love to know how you will be giving back this year! Tweet us your ideas @DureeCoPr!
